Newsflash

op-shieldDid you know that this year, with the support of the Dominican Family in Ireland, we have some part sponsorship available!

If you are interested in attending the music & liturgy course and are unable to cover the costs of the course, then you can avail of some sponsorship to attend the course. We're anxious that money should not be a factor in preventing young people from attending and are happy to help in whatever way we can.

Contact me at tricia@knockadoon.net for more information. All requests will be treated in complete confidence! The only thing we ask is that you are involved in a choir/parish in some capacity.

Final Reminders - Knockadoon 2010

August 4, 2010

Welcome to Knockadoon 2010! We’re really looking forward to you all joining us for this unique year in our Knockadoon history as we bring the show on the road to the beautiful surroundings of Mount Melleray. I’m writing to you all with some important reminders and notes before you make the trip to Waterford!

Bring your sleeping bag, pillow and sheets with you.

Mount Melleray is a camp facility. You will need your own bed linen including sheets, pillow, duvet/sleeping bag and towels. We have communal showering areas etc... so bring flip flops and all your own toiletries.

Money/Valuables!

There is a shop right beside the camp should you wish to buy “supplies”. However we would encourage you not to bring large amounts of money with you, as we will not be leaving the camp during the week.

Some of our composers will have CD’s/Music books for sale on camp so if you wish to purchase these, bring some money with you also for that purpose. Equally, we hope to have some extra course books for sale should you wish to purchase them. Again, you will need to bring along extra money for that.

Please note – we cannot take any responsibility for any valuables that are lost or mislaid during the week and we would recommend not bringing valuables with you.

Bring your instruments with you.

Don’t forget to bring whatever instruments you play (if you play!) with you. You will use these during tutorials and in general sessions for the group.

Bring yourself!

The camp officially begins with registration on Monday 16th at 1pm with Lunch. Please plan your arrival for between 11am and 1pm on that day. Also the camp finishes on Saturday 21st at 1pm. We will have a final liturgy at 11am and ask that you be present for that. Directions to the camp can be found on the website www.mountmelleray.com

For those of you travelling from Dublin, a special bus will leave St. Mary’s Priory, Tallaght at 10am sharp on Saturday 16th. Please be on time for this bus!

Tell your friends/family

On Wednesday evening (18th August), the music leadership team will present an “In Concert” event, which is open to the general public. Please tell your family and friends about this event, as they’re more than welcome to attend.

Any other questions or queries - call or email me and I’ll be happy to help you! See you all real soon…
