The
Knockadoon Folk Liturgy weeks have been running since 1981.
In that year the first Folk Liturgy was held. Its purpose was to
help people who are involved in the ministry of liturgical
music,
with a particular emphasis on Folk Music. The course was designed
as an experiential week, where the participants not only
learn
new music but are also introduced to new instruments and participate
in the Liturgy of Morning and Evening Prayer and the Eucharist.
In
2006 we celebrated 25 years of the course. A celebratory CD entitled "We will Sing" was produced and copies are available from info@knockadoon.net.
